Following in the footsteps of the Acts of the Apostles, written by St. Luke, Shepherd's Cross Christian Helps Ministry exists by the grace of God to further the first century Apostolic tradition serving in the Great Commission.

(St. Matthew 28:16-20)

The Abortion Question

…”We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”… The Declaration of Independence of the Thirteen Colonies.

Genesis 1:26-28

“Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him male and female he created them.

And God blessed them. And God said to them,” Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth."

Now the Abortion question being addressed here was in fact asked by Rick Warren, senior pastor of Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California to the 2008 Presidential hopefuls, Senators John McCain and Barack Obama on Saturday, August 16, 2008 during a joint appearance of the Presidential campaign hosted by Pastor Warren @ his home church.

“When does life begin?”

Senator John McCain immediately responded, “At the moment of conception!”

Senator Barack Obama’s never answered Pastor Warren’s precise question. He did give his personal opinion that when it comes to a woman having the freedom to choose he is indeed “Pro Choice.” Even though Senator Obama avoided Pastor Warren’s clear-cut question, (“When does life begin?”), Senator Obama was quick to seize the timely opportunity to avoid leaving any misunderstanding either upon the mentality of the local present church audience, and television audience by clarifying his position, that being “Pro Choice” is defined by him as not being the same as Pro Abortion.

The specific question that Pastor Rick Warren did ask the two men running for the elected office of President of the United States in 2008 is the bottom line question that all human beings need to first hear clearly and accurately, “When does life begin?”

Secondly, the bottom line answer that all human beings need to hear clearly and accurately is the answer from Almighty God the creator of heaven and earth and all that abides within, in the words of Senator John McCain, “At conception!”

When Mary, the mother of our Lord approached her Cousin Elizabeth’s home, Elizabeth proclaimed, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb!”

"In those days Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a town in Judah,and she entered the house of Zechariah and greeted Elizabeth. And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit,and she exclaimed with a loud cry, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! And why is this granted to me that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For behold, when the sound of your greeting came to my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfillment of what was spoken to her from the Lord." St Luke 1:39-45

Imagine that, while still being within his mother’s womb, her child, John the Baptist, "leaped within her womb for joy," verse 44.

There are many Biblical reference passages on the topic of human beings being created by God while yet being within their mother’s womb. There are even passages that reveal God knowing of them before they had yet been conceived. To name a few for examples;

you discern my thoughts from afar.

and lay your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
it is high; I cannot attain it.

9If I take the wings of the morning
and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,

Now the word of the LORD came to me, saying,” Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations." Jeremiah 1:4-5

But when he who had set me apart before I was born, and who called me by his grace, was pleased to reveal his Son to me, in order that I might preach him among the Gentiles … Galatians 1:15-16

“Question of Pro Choice”

As Christian believers the Holy Scriptures are clear; we are (a) bought with a price and that we are to (b) glorify God in our body which is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is God’s. How is having an abortion glorifying to God?

(a)“You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.”1 Corinthians 7:23

(b)“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” 1 Corinthians 6:19-20

The idea of a woman having the last word over her body to choose whether she may abort a fetus growing within her womb, gives the impression to me, this faith belief comes forth out of the world view behind the idea human beings are not, in the words of Declaration of Independence of the Thirteen Colonies.

Rather we are a product of a chance evolution that involves neither an intelligent design nor a Supreme Being.

At the time of the birth of our Lord, King Herod I in an attempt to destroy the child Jesus ordered out his soldiers to kill ever male child two years of age and younger fulfilling Holy Scripture prophecy.

Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men. Then was fulfilled what was spoken by Jeremiah the prophet, saying: “ A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation, weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, Refusing to be comforted, Because they are no more.”Matthew 2:16-18

According to the Lord Jesus Christ, describing the devil, declared him to be a murderer from the beginning

“You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.” John 8:44-45

Mankind, according to Holy Scripture, is created in the image of God.

“This is the book of the genealogy of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God. He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created.” Genesis 5:1-2

It is the devil’s temperament to be a murderer. What better way to attempt to thwart human beings from ever receiving the right of choice in order to accept the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ than to do away with this optional choice by aborting mankind before they ever take their first breath outside of their mother’s womb. This same womb that has been created by God, in the first place, where, according to the Divine inspirational words of the Psalmist King David, “you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.”

Please, Please, Please, citizens of the United States of America; Repent by allowing your unborn fetuses the same unalienable Rights that are endowed by your Creator that your mothers allowed you to enjoy by giving birth to you and either raising you or by giving you up for adoption as my mother did. These Rights are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”…

God’s faithful remnants awaken from your sleep. It needs more than Rachel’s voice today weeping for her children to change the direction of the United States of America’s Abortion direction.

Please, Please, Please, citizens of the United States of America Repent!

Thus says the LORD: “A voice was heard in Ramah, Lamentation and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children, refusing to be comforted for her children, because they are no more.” Jeremiah 31:15
