1918-2008 “Nobel laureate Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, at the age of 89, has died today on August 3, 2008.” Driving, listening at the top of the news hour to my car radio, the broadcaster‘s words “Solzhenitsyn, dead,”… pierced my soul. Straight away, deep from within my spirit, these words emerged, “Another irreplaceable great thinking communicator has left planet earth.” Today, August 4, 2008, in an honored reminiscence of Solzhenitsyn, I retrieved from out of my cabinet where I keep my Famous Favorite Speeches File, the address that Solzhenitsyn gave at Harvard Class Day Afternoon Exercises, Thursday, June 8, 1978, and once again read the Authenticity Certified Test Version transcribed directly from audio.
