Shepherd's Cross Christian Helps Ministry
(1 Corinthians 12:28)

Following in the footsteps of the Acts of the Apostles, written by St. Luke, Shepherd's Cross Christian Helps Ministry exists by the grace of God to further the first century Apostolic tradition serving in the Great Commission.

After leaving explicit instructions as to how she wished her son, Richard would be raised w/in the rite of the Roman Catholic Church, leaving me in the care of a Roman Catholic orphanage to be found in upper New York State my birthmother parted from my presence, giving up any future parental obligations and parental rights to raise me herself.

My adopted parents following my birthmother’s wishes raised me w/in the Roman Catholic faith. Having my spiritual formation directed and guided w/in the Diocese of Orange, in Southern California, under the tutorage of the Sisters of St. Joseph in Orange, I attended a parochial elementary school beginning in the first grade and ending during the middle of sixth grade. Leaving the parochial elementary school, I continued my Roman Catholic religious instruction by attending CCD classes for a few years more.

It was during these early years as a youth, I first became mindful of the notion that in order to be an authentic faithful member of the true Roman Catholic Church, learning and keeping the Ten Commandments were essential. Similarly, I was taught, that it was necessary to be vigilant on living by the Ten Commandments in order to be conformed to the image of the living Savior, Christ Jesus our Lord, who, during the Roman Catholic Mass, the priest taking bread and wine and by saying certain sanctifying words would change the bread and wine into the real presence of this same Christ.

In 1971 I became a converted born-again Christian. Being a born-again Christian during the early 1970’s, growing up in Orange County, California, I became familiar w/a non-denominational Christian place of worship called Shekinah Fellowship in Long Beach. The senior pastor’s name was Brant Baker. I attended a weekend retreat in the mountains that the fellowship hosted for a nominal fee. I also attended a healing service where I received a healing from an ear infection through the ministry of Brant Baker.

During my Christian journey at this time the emphasis of the Old Testament Shekinah Glory was being reinforced upon me. This emphasis was not only coming from the fact the name of this local fellowship was called Shekinah Fellowship; it was also being emphasized by a current popular study going on w/in Christian teaching circles @ that time.

Healing and Deliverance ministries were big during this historical point in time just as the book, The Purpose Drive Life by Rick Warren the founder and senior pastor of the 22000 member Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California was in the beginning of the twenty-first century.

The popular study of entering into God’s rest within my teaching fellowship was made popular by the texts of Jesse Penn-Lewis (1861-1927) called Conquest of Canaan. Other such texts that were originally written during the late nineteenth century and beginning of the early twentieth century were also introduced to me through a local fellowship that I was attending. Oswald Chambers, Andrew Murray, Watchman Nee, Arthur Pink, Charles Haddon Spurgeon, and the like were big contributors to my Christian development now that I had left the Roman Catholic Church.

Now, once again made popular by the zeitgeist of the times, following the Jesus People Movement of the late 1960’s, these authors and the like, contributed to my spiritual development of spiritual warfare entering into the rest that God I was taught had provided for me by faith.

During my Christian journey over the last three decades I am still very consciously aware of the Biblical chronicles of the Cloud, the Fiery Pillar, and Shekinah Glory that the Children of Israel historically experienced during their forty year trek in the desert wilderness as God primed His remnant to enter into the Land of Promise.

I have once again become conscious beginning as early as the 1990’s, books, documentaries, fictional movies and current news reports are telling of real Raiders of the Lost Arc adventures that the location of the real Old Testament Ark of the Covenant may have been found or actually have been uncovered.

However, as with the Bigfoot / Sasquatch mystery adventure the actual physical Ark of the Covenant is not presented for the populace to view by those that make their claims.

Yet, for the last two thousand years, the human race has had the true living presence of God making Himself,available to all humankind. The true resurrected Savior of the world, Israel’s true Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. Along with having the Living Word of God present and available, the world’s populace has also the written Word of God, the Holy Bible made available through the tenacity of faithful men and women who gave their human life in order to persevere the continuation of the written word first from being destroyed and secondly to be copied being translated to many common languages of the day.
