Prophecy Against the King of Tyre The word of the Lord came to me: Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, This is what the sovereign Lord says: Your heart is proud and you said, I am a god; I sit in the seat of gods, in the heart of the seas yet you are a man and not a god, though you think you are godlike. Look, you are wiser than Daniel; no secret is hidden from you. By your wisdom and understanding you have gained wealth for yourself; you have amassed gold and silver in your treasuries. By your great skill in trade you have increased your wealth, and your heart is proud because of your wealth. Therefore this is what the sovereign Lord says: Because you think you are godlike, I am about to bring foreigners against you, the most terrifying of nations. They will draw their swords against the grandeur made by your wisdom, and they will defile your splendor. They will bring you down to the pit, and you will die violently in the heart of the seas. Will you still say, I am a god, before the one who kills you though you are a man and not a god when you are in the power of those who wound you? You will die the death of the uncircumcised by the hand of foreigners; for I have spoken, declares the sovereign Lord. The word of the Lord came to me: Son of man, sing a lament for the king of Tyre, and say to him, This is what the sovereign Lord says: You were the sealer of perfection, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. You were in Eden, the garden of God. Every precious stone was your covering, the ruby, topaz, and emerald, the chrysolite, onyx, and jasper, the sapphire, turquoise, and beryl; your settings and mounts were made of gold. On the day you were created they were prepared. I placed you there with an anointed guardian cherub; you were on the holy mountain of God; you walked about amidst fiery stones. You were blameless in your behavior from the day you were created, until sin was discovered in you. In the abundance of your trade you were filled with violence, and you sinned; so I defiled you and banished you from the mountain of God the guardian cherub expelled you from the midst of the stones of fire. Your heart was proud because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom on account of your splendor. I threw you down to the ground; I placed you before kings, that they might see you. By the multitude of your iniquities, through the sinfulness of your trade, you desecrated your sanctuaries. So I drew fire out from within you; it consumed you, and I turned you to ashes on the earth before the eyes of all who saw you. All who know you among the peoples are shocked at you; you have become terrified and will be no more. Ezekiel 28:13-19 You said to yourself, I will climb up to the sky. Above the stars of El I will set up my throne I will rule on the mountain of assembly on the remote slopes of Zaphon. I will climb up to the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High! Isaiah 14:13-14 Look how you have fallen from the sky, O shining one, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the ground, O conqueror of the nations! Isaiah 14:12 But you were brought down to Sheol, to the remote slopes of the pit. Isaiah 14:15 God Created The Heavens And The Earth In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.Genesis 1:1 The Angeles Were Present At The Creation Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell me, if you possess understanding! Who set its measurements if you know or who stretched a measuring line across it? On what were its bases set, or who laid its cornerstone when the morning stars sang in chorus, and all the sons of God shouted for joy? Job 38:4-7 Jesus The Creator In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. John 1:1-4 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation, for all things in heaven and on earth were created by him all things, whether visible or invisible, whether thrones or dominions, whether principalities or powers all things were created through him and for him. He himself is before all things and all things are held together in him. Colossians 1:15-17 …and through whom he created the world who being the brightness of [his] glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, Hebrews 1:2-3 And, You founded the earth in the beginning, Lord, and the heavens are the works of your hands. They will perish, but you continue. And they will all grow old like a garment, and like a robe you will fold them up and like a garment they will be changed, but you are the same and your years will never run out. Hebrews 1:10-12 God Created Mankind Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, after our likeness, so they may rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move on the earth.” God created humankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them, male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful and multiply! Fill the earth and subdue it! Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and every creature that moves on the ground. Then God said, “I now give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the entire earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the animals of the earth, and to every bird of the air, and to all the creatures that move on the ground everything that has the breath of life in it I give every green plant for food.” It was so. Genesis 1:26-30 It Is Time Satan had bided his time. He was ready to pounce Adam and Eve’s enemy the devil, like a roaring lion, was on the prowl in the Garden looking for either one of them. Instead of resisting the shrewd serpent, being strong in her faith, Eve’s, the mother of all living, mind was led astray from a sincere and pure devotion to the God, was deceived by the serpent’s treachery. Genesis 3:20, 2 Corinthians 11:3 The Temptation And The Fall Now the serpent was more shrewd than any of the wild animals that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Is it really true that God said, “You must not eat from any tree of the orchard?” The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit from the trees of the orchard; but concerning the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the orchard God said, “You must not eat from it, and you must not touch it, or else you will die.” The serpent said to the woman, “Surely you will not die, for God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will open and you will be like divine beings who know good and evil.”When the woman saw that the tree produced fruit that was good for food, was attractive to the eye, and was desirable for making one wise, she took some of its fruit and ate it. She also gave some of it to her husband who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them opened, and they knew they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. Genesis 3:1-7 Becoming god of this age, Satan through a hostile take over, as it were, became a dictator of sorts, over mankind. Beginning with mankind, through the sin of Adam and Eve and then following with the creation, all is now become under Satan’s temporary dominion and command. For the creation was subjected to futility not willingly but because of God who subjected it in hope that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage of decay into the glorious freedom of God’s children. Romans 8:19-21 Be Careful What You Ask For, For You May Get It Satan, as the god of this age, he has blinded the minds of those who do not believe. 2 Corinthians 4:4 As ruler of the kingdom of the air Satan also rules the spirit that is now energizing the sons of disobedience. By nature these children of wrath are spiritually dead in trespasses and sins. They are living out their lives according to this world’s present path, in the cravings of their flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and the mind. Ephesians 2:1-3 They love the world and the things in the world. The love of the Father is not in them. All that is in the world (the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the arrogance produced by material possessions) is not from the Father, but is from the world. And the world is passing away with all its desires. 1 John 2:15-17 |
